Privacy policy

Who we are
Valkyrie Solutions (Pty) Ltd is a South African company (registration 2024/180633/07, VAT 4770317768) based in Boksburg, Gauteng. We publish K53 FastTrack SA, an Android study app for the learner's licence test, and we run this website at valkyriesolutions.co.za. This policy covers both, wherever you're reading it — inside the app, on Google Play, or here.
Privacy questions go to privacy@valkyriesolutions.co.za.
The app has no accounts
K53 FastTrack SA has no sign-in and no cloud profile. You can give yourself a display name in Settings, or leave it blank — either way, it stays on your phone.
What the app stores, and where
Your progress, that optional name, where you left off, and how many
practice tests you've used are kept in a local database file on your
device (progress.db, if you're curious). We never
receive a copy of it, and we don't run a server that could. The
lesson text and figures ship inside the app itself and aren't your
personal information.
The full version's weak-area training and progress reports are worked out on your phone, from that same local file. Those results aren't sent to us either — we can't see how you're doing.
If Android Auto Backup is switched on for your Google account, Google may include the progress file the next time it backs up the app, so a reinstall or a new phone can pick up where you left off. Google runs that backup under your own account settings — not us. The packaged lesson content is excluded from it.
What the app doesn't do
- No advertising, and no ad software.
- No analytics or crash reporting, in this version.
- No account, and no company server holding your study data.
- Lessons and practice tests work fully offline once installed.
Buying the full version
The upgrade is a once-off purchase through Google Play's billing system. Your card details stay with Google — we only see enough to confirm the purchase went through and unlock the features on your device. There's no cloud account tied to your study history, before or after you upgrade.
This website
The site is plain HTML, with no analytics and no advertising. It loads type from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google when you open a page (the app doesn't use that service at all). If you email us, we receive whatever you send, plus whatever routine details your email provider attaches — nothing more.
Who sees this information
We don't sell personal information, and there's no study account to share with advertisers even if we wanted to. Beyond us, the only parties involved are our website host, Google — for Auto Backup, Play purchases, and font requests — and, if you write to us, whichever mail service is involved. None of them receive this information from us for their own marketing.
How long we keep things
Data on your phone stays there until you clear the app's storage, uninstall without restoring a backup, or delete it yourself. Emails we receive are kept only as long as we need them to deal with your query. We hold no copy of your study progress unless you've sent it to us directly, or Google has restored it from a backup you set up.
Your rights
Under South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we're able to — for example, an email sitting in our inbox. Since the app has no account, there's no "delete my account" request to make: your on-device progress is already entirely in your control, through Android's own settings.
To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@valkyriesolutions.co.za. If you believe your rights have been infringed, you can also complain to South Africa's Information Regulator at POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za, or via inforegulator.org.za.
PAIA manual
As a private company, we keep a short manual under the Promotion of Access to Information Act, describing the records we hold and how to request access to one. It isn't published on this site, but it's free by email: privacy@.
If any of this changes
Should we introduce accounts, analytics, or advertising, we'll update this page — and the date above — before the change takes effect.
